Default hip neighborhoods/cycling new haven

hello all-

i will be in New Haven for a few months for a job, I need to find an apt and i think i pretty much am left to craigslist. I am moving the end of the first week of june so this is all a little fast. I will be working on Wayfarer Street and I am guessing that there is no housing around there. i would prefer to bike to work, or take a publice transportation- does that exist? how about cycling in new haven- does anyone have any good web resources for cyclists in new haven? Though I would prefer to live as close as possible to work- what are some hip neighborhoods and their proximities? the maps aren't helping.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ANY TIME YOU SPEND ANSWERING THESE QUESTIONS! Kelly Mahoney
