We're trying to find a year long rental home in Woodstock or Pomfret. We have an option in Killingly but that's not on the top of our list.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Can't find much online.

Have you looked through the Shopper's Guide? It's probably your best option. I know there used to be homes for rent in South Woodstock, near the Hyde School/Woodstock Fair area. Can you post something in Scranton's or anything?

Regarding the shopper's Guide...we're in North Carolina and they don't have an online edition (although I really wish they did). So maybe if you see something while you're browsing through it...you'll let me know?

Sorry, I'm in VA! Yes, the shopper's guide needs an online version. But it would be WAY too detailed to keep track of.

Where are you in NC and what is moving you to Woodstock? (send me a PM if you don't want to post on public forum).

We're just south of Charlotte in Waxhaw NC. We moved down here a little less than 2 years ago from northeastern CT and after the initial excitement of living in a new place...we realized we made a mistake.

I know a lot of people who LOVE it here, but for us...no thanks.

I thought my daughter would be sad leaving our big (cookie cutter) house...but all she said was "I can't wait to play in the snow again and as soon as we get up there we'll go to granny's beach and have lobster."

Before we decided to go back, an old man friend of mine who lives down the road told me to make a list of pros and cons about staying here vs moving back.

It wasn't even close.
