I know alot of you would love to be in FL right now but even now, it is hot and muggy!!! (Although not as bad as summer) Anyway, Cambium, do you have any idea what the weather might do this weekend in the Meriden area? I don't trust weather.com anymore. Also, do you have any models for the weekend of Mar 5,6 for NYC...gonna be at a soccer tournament there and DONT want snow/rain! I admit watching soccer in the cold is not enjoyable! Thanks!
Welcome to the thread and it sure is nice to find another person who loves this weather. It's only for 3 months of the year so we should enjoy it.

weather.com isnt too bad, pretty general, maybe off with details, but we all are. lol

Here is the latest model which just came out at 11:30am for Meriden coordinates of 41.32, -72.47 ..

Orange box represents this weekend. Looks like it will hit 38 degrees. Let us know how this panned out. Take a look at what it has you for next week...Upper 40s...

I think we could be breaking heat records next week.. Amazing Flip.

edit:: forgot to mention Mar 5,6... Models dont go that far out, just projections... I havent looked at those yet. I'm expecting a cold March though. Do you watch MLS? How about World Cup?

Thanks! Looks pretty good! High 40's! That's almost balmy! I actually live in Ellington, but will be outdoors in Meriden this weekend, weather permitting.

That might be tricky.....we're getting into late Feb. by that point and in NYC most of the daily records are in the mid-high 60s and sometimes even low 70s (FEBRUARY CLIMATE SUMMARY - CENTRAL PARK NY)!

Even in Hartford where it's a bit cooler on average for daily highs all of the daily record highs then are in the 60s and sometimes low 70s (Windsor Locks February Temperature Records).

Maybe Bridgeport's will be broken. I see a lot of days with 50s as daily records because of a combination of being right on top of the cold Sound (while it makes the nighttime lows higher it makes the daytime highs lower when you have unusually warm winter weather) and a much shorter record span (I think their records, at least at Sikorsky Airport only started in 1948). I think that record of "54" for Feb. 20 could easily go if we're still in the warm pattern then: FEBRUARY CLIMATE SUMMARY - BRIDGEPORT CT

An interesting side note on the Central Park link: record snowfall for Feb. 2 is 5.0" in 1874, then 21 days later a record high of 72-deg (which was the high for the entire month until 1930!). So this kind of flip flop happened before......LONG before! And for a "reverse flip" on the same chart, look at the Feb. 6 record high temperature (almost 70!) and the Feb. 22 record snowfall......16 days apart and just THREE YEARS AGO!

Oh wow - So sorry... I didnt put a location on that... it was a general statement meaning no more record colds which we saw down south in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkasas, ect... Now we're going to see heat records in the lower 48.

All within in a 3 day span. Crazy.

I didnt mean CT. Sorry. Thanks for correcting me.

Looking at that meteogram above for Meriden I overlooked the wind aspect of it... I just got an alert for winds gusting to 42mph Saturday. Wow...

No not a problem, I saw on the news last night 60 for Friday so it wasn't that off base to say what you said, I thought you'd find the info I provided interesting anyway, especially the 2 examples of "February flip flops". Though the 80 in Dallas for late next week might be like low 60s for us in terms of breaking records there.

Feb. 21-22 Storm Update:

Last few solutions have it warm so its a rain event with close to an inch. Whats interesting is that another model finally in the timeframe is showing it pass well to our south..

edit: I was wrong about the snowpack being around till mid March... we might lose it all within 7 days. (not including mounds)

Current Temps as of 7amEST. Upper 30s Slowly creeping up.. I believe we'll see flurries and snow showers this coming week but then rain the week after... Who else thinks rain for the following week?

We're now 1 week into the pattern change.

I'm really hoping this is the case.

Also I think we'll have an exceptionally warm March. One can hope, at least.
