Potential NorEaster coming this weekend. I think it will stay south of us. As with the entire year CT has been in a severe weather bubble (especially SouthWest) where all severe storms has gone around the area or dissipated entering the state.

This one is coming from the south. Will be Tropical hitting the Carolinas then enters cooler water and just becomes a NorEaster. So far its curving out to sea after jersey..

Stay tuned.

For those keeping track, we've only had 5 days 90+ at BDL so far (big difference vs. last year!). Just checked the extended forecast, and looks like it should stay below 90 for the next 7 days. I'm liking this summer!

wow time flys. Obviously no NorEaster. But hhave you guys noticed that all severe storms go north of fairfield county and westchester count and nyc? past 4 months. Its truely amazing to see them coming towards the area and then vanish. Then you see storms go north, south, east and west of the area.

Even a couple storms that were moving south (not the usual east) they all avoided the areas. very weird. must be a strong Sea breeze.

Actually in terms of NYC many of those storms that went south yesterday and today did hit the southern half of the boros pretty well. But being north of the City we don't notice that. I was at a get-together in Rocky Hill yesterday and when I left about 3pm, no signs of bad weather and when I got home and hour an a half later, while not bad out at all either, you could see an obvious dark cloud WAAAYYY to the south.

You know what? For a much-advertised "sweltering, hot, humid" day, it didn't feel so bad at all. Glad to live up here...even humid ain't so humid, and it doesn't last long!

Someone compared Las Vegas heat to here. LOL Anyone notice the humidity levels at 7am in CT? 72%! Vegas always stays near 30%.

Here's a chart to help determine what it really feels like .

Should hit 95 today so look for 95 degrees on top row... Look for 70 on left column.

The humidity will not be 70% later on but even at 60% it will feel like 110. Inhumane.

And its not only the real feel thats a concern, its the hot wetness of the air.

Pets and ederly. Take care of them,.

88 in the house according to the thermostadt. 70% humidity according to Cambium (no AC or dehumidifier - outside and inside air will share approximately the same humidity). Feels like: 100.

Yeah, that's just about right.

I never got this "feels like" 100 bit, etc. 100 at what humidity? I'm assuming 0% humidity but even in Las Vegas and Phoenix I don't think 0% is common (though 5-10% is). And even if so, I think it's a lousy measure for the East Coast because I think the lowest we ever get is maybe a bit below 30%. At least with wind chills we know it "feels" like a given temperature if there's no wind.
