BTW - I'm not great at seeing and forecasting winds but this friday we could get strong winds up to 30mph.

The euro had an absolute bomb today. Same size as Irene. I always ask this...wouldnt you rather have a blizzard then flooding? I hate floods, they are so destructive and recouping from them takes forever.

If this was Dec. January, this storm that models are showing would be a blizzard.

Heads up. Storms can be severe at times tomorrow witha chance of Tornado embedded.

Then after storms pass Friday evening Winds are going to be up Friday night..into Saturday morning.,

PRECIPITATION TAPERS OFF FRIDAY NIGHT AFTER THE COLD FRONTAL
PASSAGE...WITH ONLY A FEW LEFTOVER SHOWERS POSSIBLE. A STRONG PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL SUPPORT GUSTY WINDS OVERNIGHT.

IN TERMS OF TEMPS...FRIDAY HIGHS GENERALLY IN THE LOW TO MID 70S. MUCH COOLER FRIDAY NIGHT WITH LOWS RANGING FROM THE MID 4OS OVER INTERIOR CT AND THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY TO THE MID 50S OVER THE NYC METRO AND LONG ISLAND.

SATURDAY...STRONG AND GUSTY SW WINDS WILL DEVELOP BETWEEN A DEEP SFC LOW PASSING ACROSS SE CANADA AND A WEAK HI PRES SYSTEM OVER THE TN VALLEY. AT THIS TIME...

THE MOST LIKELY OUTCOME IS FOR SUSTAINED WINDS TO RANGE FROM 20-30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH...
REMAINING BELOW WIND ADVISORY CRITERIA.
SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY...WEAK HI PRES MOVES ACROSS THE REGION WITH NEAR NORMAL TEMPS.

I know this is a CT forum and I always hate using NYC stats but its always so easy to find...

Record Wet and Dry Years and Months at CPK

As of 2am today the rainfall total for the year now stands at 60.96 which moves NYC up to 6th place.

After today we could easily be in the Top 4 wettest years since 1869.

As said earlier, I think it will finish #2 in the end (20 more inches in the next 2 months is going to be tough, but 6 won't be.....).

Not looking good for this week... Look at the Florida radar. All that tropical moisture will head north and intensify as it does.

We need any more rain! We are already over 300% the norm.

Moisture starts wednesday morning ... gets heavy during the day and then moisture lingers until Friday.

If the crazy wet pattern doesnt end, we better buy Skiis and snowmoibiles.

Not liking the pattern setup...especially for October... Long range showing another monster coastal storm /NorEaster...

Lets get through this one this week which should produce strong winds and heavy rains.
