You're right! I cant stand when people say I hope it rains soon! Droughts are so easy to deal with...rain is not good! So many accidents happen.

I guess it a matter of being able to figure out how to survive the current event. Some people hope the sky stays blue their whole life and then they complain when it snows 10 times out of 365 days...that I will never understand.

RAIN FOR NEXT 4 DAYS!! I HATE RAIN!! Nor'Easter tomorow. Winds should shift to NE. Rain starting tonight, ending Thursday...

You snowhaters better hope this trend changes! Another 20 degrees less and this will be all snow every week. Large amounts too!

The Atlantic is still near 70 F off the NJ/Long Island coast. Snow is a long way off my child.

Oh great...so by the time the 25 degree air is in place, those waters will be warmer than usual fueling more moisture into the storm...nice. Vermont gonna see snow this week..

Rain is just weather. Big snowstorms are an economic hit to everybody: the town budget, for sand/salt and plowing; business costs go up and they may lose income, etc. Plus the accidents, heart attacks, etc. Nothing good happens when it snows.

What about the snow removal companies? And the ski resorts?

Snow removal companies is a form of the broken window fallacy.

Ski resorts would rather have cold weather without storms. They can make lots of snow, but they need the roads open so you can get to them.

True. I was just pointing out that your statement "nothing good happens when it snows" isn't 100% accurate for a few industries.

It's very expensive for resorts to make their own snow, so owners of these resorts cross their fingers for a cold AND snowy winter 100% of the time. Regarding them needing the roads open... as a lifelong skier, I can tell you that the best conditions are during and just after a snowstorm. People flock to the resorts when it snows.

Wow...poor statement.... Flooding is not an economic loss to business and home owners? Cleaning sewers to make the water flow freely is free? How about the Rust that will form on bridges? Pipes that corrode. How about pot holes from the water? How about the crops and farms that suffer because of too much rain? How about the respiratory problems because the acid rain mixes with the polution and the fine sulfer and nitrate particles.

I'm sorry, I can't agree with your statement...Rain causes just as much headaches and stress. And as far as economic, thats being blindly political. Towns sell salt and sand to one another...Buinesses may be slow but do you mean opposed as when it rains and they are busier?? As KidYankee mentioned, Ski Resorts, winter clothes, ever see how many shovels or salt bags stores sell when it snows?

Did you know that water stored in form of snow is important? 70% of our water supply comes from snowmelt. No acid in snow like in rain.

Let it snow. Let it snow.

Snow interferes with motorcycle riding. Thus it is purely evil.
