We briefly lost power early this morning, I don't have much faith in Constantly Losing Power if we get high winds.

Thanks for the report. Heavy rain band up there. 50dbz in spots.

The Low has formed over Maryland and moving up now. Watch those gradients tighten up between the 2 storms.

Satellite View. 4 Lows on the map.

Still mostly all rain here in NH as of around 9PM. Snow looks like a bust unless if starts switching over after midnight. Air temps are now up to 34F

What a nice crisp day so far, funny watching meterologists talking about snow yesterday as some big event and getting all rialed up about some wind

I wonder if this will be a dud too I'm actually hoping it is because I know especially in CT there will otherwise be lots of power out.

I noticed that no station in CT is showing much winds over 20mph (and those are only the ones on the immediate coast like BDR), and the only tri-state area station showing "major wind" is JFK so far (though LGA has a few good gusts, but both of these stations are normally windier than most of the other area weather stations to begin with).

Hartford and Central Park are barely showing 10mph winds right now.....

lol. Well thats excellent news if anything. It's all about "preparing" people for the "potential". There's already too many clueless people walking around as is.

I always wondered how they forecast winds. Its so different in all areas and can change quicker than a storm. Inland will see LESS winds then near the coast. Here's some wind gust reports.. Red numbers are wind gusts on map. NWS Mesonet Observations

DANBURY AIRPORT 40 446 AM 2/25 ASOS

...NEW YORK COUNTY...

March 1, 2012 Storm Update: (5 Days away)

Latest Euro is colder and shows snows all the way to coast. 12"+ for MA. 6-9" for Northern CT.

Remember, upton only serves bottom 4 counties.

" P-TYPE SLIGHTLY PROBLEMATIC...AS DEPENDING
UPON EXACTLY HOW MUCH WARMER AIR WORKS IN ALOFT...COULD SEE MAINLY SNOW ACROSS HIGHER ELEVATIONS ACROSS NORTHERN ZONES...WITH A RAIN/SNOW MIX POSSIBLE ELSEWHERE.

NOTING HOW THIS PAST EVENT PLAYED OUT AND CLIMATOLOGY

1035MB SFC HIGH WILL ATTEMPT TO FUNNEL LLVL COLD AIR SOUTH
INTO THE REGION FOR THE TUESDAY NIGHT - THURSDAY PERIOD. THE 00Z EURO
MODEL APPEARS TO PAINT THIS LLVL COLD AIR DAMMING "

Euro transfers the storm near Great lakes to the developing storm that formed onear Del Marva and moves up the coast.

Snow Totals from that Euro run last night.

I think The pattern has changed..(little too late for Winter) but I am seeing the upper air pattern similar to that of Novembers/Decembers.

Just had a 46mph gust. Higher than Irene.

You see those lines(isobars) over us? The tighter they are the stronger the winds. Until all those isobars pass us, it will stay windy. High Pressure pushing up against a 970mb low north of Maine.

Snow squalls from Lake Effect making its way down a little.
