Yes, models starting to raise their numbers a bit.

Could hit 80 Friday. Should Only last a couple days but my goal this weekend is to.... Put the veggies out. Thats right. 2 weeks before usual plant out date. Why? Because I believe this will be the closest we get to to frost until Fall.

Latest GFS for after this weekend has the 850 freeze line line staying just North & East of us. Min temps below this picture. That "could" and "should" be the last time we see any chance of 30s at night.

Can't wait to plant everything. This recent rain has been perfect.

I don't see any more frost/freeze setups for May unless I am missing something.
Nice to see you back. Accuweather Brian Clark just now posted a blog. Its been since March since he did. He's an intern working on top of Mt. Washington, NH and I've been following his blogs all along. Fasinating stuff. He actually lived & worked up there and blogged about it.

Anyway - he's ready for the warmth but had some interesting things to say today. One being he left for vacation in March when it was warm. But first 2 weeks of April was a wake up call (pattern change was in process) with 30" of snow.

Long Range:

Scattered showers this week.

5th - 9th & 11th next chance for rain. Maybe a T-Storm Saturday (mostly to our south).
Temps seasonable - Slightly below, mostly in 60s after this 2 day warmup..

Perfect May weather IMO. Plants are going to do great.

Little drizzle rain next 24hrs. Radar showing precip making its way across PA right now. Shortwaves, not organized systems.

Does anyone know how we ended up in April as far as rainfall departures? CT or NorthEast.

Looks like high temps are being revised downward for the next few days for Hartford. No mention of 70s for the weekend?!

Media is amazing. Almost 2 weeks of well below normal temps and its not a headline, but as soon as its 5-10 above normal they jump all over it. lol

Current temps holding onto the 40s and 50s. Warm front still in Ohio Valley.

Hartford was 14 below normal with yesterdays Max Temp.
Hartford Left, Bridgeport Right.

Yes, I am loving the cooler than average weather after all of those red flag warning days that felt like being out in the Southwest or High Plains.
Forecast for Friday gets even better with an 80% chance of showers and highs in the lower 50s in central NH, a good 10F+ below average.

I am thinking temps this month could actually be near average or even below with the trough finally becoming more persistent in the eastern US.'

The average temperature at the Concord, NH airport station for April was still over 2F above the long-term average, but departures were less extreme compared to March.

Using just last 7 days because using 2 weeks still has the mid April Warmth. Here's how the temp departure(left) looks and Precip percentage last 30 days looks.

Moisture situation improving.

NAO and AO are forecasted to go into negative territory over the next two weeks, over one standard deviation below average. PNA is also forecasted to go into positive territory. That should continue to favor more of an eastern trough and a greater chance for storminess.
