Just a quick observation of mine about how early things are happening this year. The mountain laurel is blooming now (usually mid-June), small peaches and pears on trees in my area. And I have been hearing crickets for over a week now. They are a real summer sound.

I was on a one-day trip to New Hampshire yesterday. While there I heard of a tornado watch in the CT River area (Brattleboro, VT). It was raining a little where I was. Then I got to Deerfield, MA., and stopped to eat. While I was eating, I heard people "look at the sky" - it was pitch black, then big bolts of lightening and loud thunder; soon sheets of rain blowing across the parking lot. I waiting a few minutes - had another cup of coffee - then decided to hit the road again. I stayed on Route 5, since there are farm fields on both sides of the road and few large trees to fall over the road. Got gas in Northampton, with just a little rain and got on I-91. I could see the storm in the distance, moving southwest. When I got home, I asked a neighbor if they had any bad weather and he said, no just a little wind. I saw a lot of fresh green leaves on the ground nearby. So we got lucky in southern CT.

Nice story, yeah SWCT got lucky yet again. Amazing what the marine air can do i guess. Cuts right into a developed storm.

No Tornadoes, just a lot of hail reports Litchfield, northwards.

It's rare to see cloud structure let alone scenes like this in CT. Wow!

I didnt take these but check out the colletion of pics by WxEdge Ch.8 viewers. Keep clicking next and you'll come across a time laspse as well.

Cambium, looks like a pretty significant (but welcome!) cooldown coming? I see highs in the 60s in the 10-day forecast for BDL!

Yeah.. Cold front about to cross through tonight. Freeze Warnings out for Michigan, SD, ND and Wisconsin. Upper 20s. Negative NAO bleeding some Cold air down. Nothing drastic for us.. Normal stuff maybe below norm a little.

Friday morning temps based on latest GFS. Litchfield should be in upper 40s.

Sorry, I forgot... Not to ruin your weekend but.. Models in good agreement that the Storm from Ohio Valley goes to Great Lakes and a New Coastal low forms off DelMarva bringing us Rains and thunder Friday night into Saturday and through Tuesday as it sits out there.

Here we go again with the clouds, Unreal.

Is that a tornado siren or just a fire horn? There are a few horns from fire houses in CT that sounds just like that.

Hmm, not sure, I questioned it also. I didn't remember a tornado warning in that area but I figured maybe I missed it. Then i heard her say "looks like something else is coming" so I assumed its a tornado siren. Usually hail falls away from where a tornado would form. Not sure though.

I was in car once that was flipped over by a tornado, and there was also hail.
