Hello

I was wondering about how exactly section 8 works exactly. My mother wants to move out to Florida and I wish to move out and live here. But I do not have anywhere to move too yet and talked to my mother about going back on section 8,being we were on it awhile back from witness protection which I am still under. I would appreciate it if anyone knows about how this would work to message me and let me know or if there is any other program is similar to.

Thank You,VRC

there are deadlines to get on the section 8 list. I would contact the local section 8 office of where you are moving to to see if you could apply. Not sure of your circumstances but there are a set of requirements as well to be eligble for this program.

DSS: Housing Assistance - Section 8

That has the info on Section 8. Since you will be living on your own, just be careful where you get a rental as most section 8 rentals are not in very good areas, though If you've been on it before, I'm sure you know that.

Perhaps moving with your mother to FL may make more sense.

It may be worse economy in Florida.
But I was suggesting she move with her mother who is going there since she will have that support if she needs it, rather then using section 8 money.
