Greetings all, I'm looking for advice about bicycling with my two children (8 and 10) from the area near Manchester Community College to the Founder's Bridge. I know there is a "greenway" that goes from MCC to Forbes St. in East Hartford, so that part is easy. But after that, it looks like our only choices are to ride on Silver Lane or Burnside Ave the rest of the way. Those two roads are much, much busier than I'm comfortable with my kids riding on, so I'm looking for any other ideas -- like quiter streets or possibly other bike trails I don't know about. Any help would be appreciated!

We're big bikers here. I've never biked on road from there. I believe you'd go down Silver Lane (which is pretty busy/not sure about sidewalks).

Have you tried the Farmington Greenway yet? It's a pretty flat stretch. You have many option places to start from.

There's also a nice trail in Northampton, MA. I think it's Exit 19 off I-91. The trail extends 10 miles each way.

PM me if you want more details.

Where do you live? Where will you be biking from?

There's a lovely trail on the Manchester/East Hartford line in back of that big park over there.
