Can anyone recommend a great jeweler in CT for engagement ring shopping? We're near New Haven but would be willing to travel a little bit for a great deal and/or selection. Currently in love with Tacori settings, but given their price tag are interested in seeing more options! Thanks.

You might want to make a trip into New York. The Diamond District has many jewelers and usually has some pretty good deals. Jay

Beckers in West Hartford center is where my engagement ring came from. They have really nice quality stuff there.

I 2nd the recommendation for heading into the diamond district in NY. My family has been using a jeweler there for 30+ years. I'll send you a DM with their name. I went to get my now wife's engagement ring there, and they spent an hour with me going over the different options, settings, prices, etc. I ended up choosing the diamond and then designing it myself. I've been back since to get both of our wedding bands, diamond earrings for my wife after our son was born, and will continue to go back to them whenever I buy her anything else.

And, more importantly, congratulations on your pending engagement!

IMHO the best thing is to buy it online, there are quite a few good websites out there. You save on sales tax and will find prices much lower than the B&M shops.

Congratulations! Go to Rumanoffs in Hamden..they carry Tacori. They are reputable and honest. Do not buy your engagement ring off the internet.

I can only concur with the the others above who suggest the diamond district. I cannot imagine ever paying retail for any large scale jewelry, and if someone can provide you with a reference, as someone offered to do above, I feel like you can get twice as much ring for what you would pay retail. Good luck - what a happy time!

My fiance designed my engagement ring with Jewelry Designs in Danbury. It came out beautifully! I would recommend them for their commitment to customer satisfaction, which was obvious to us. They will custom-make any type of jewelry and will do exactly what you want for your price range.
