Yep - that would be the name I heard. Apparently as they go up for sale, she buys them up. Not sure why.

Must be nice, lol...

I would probably do Long Island Sound. I would be on the water, less than 2 hours from the Atlantic, close to NY and close enough to the mountains. I could have it all...but this is wishing, right?!

I had already mentioned Bantam lake in Bantam. Very big lake it even has it's own beach. There's also Twin Lakes in Salisbury altho I don't think it has a beach. It is known to have very good fishing.

I don't know anything about the 2 lakes you mentioned, but if they're in Litchfield county, I doubt you could go wrong.

I would say Stonington because it's closer to the RI beaches. The beaches on the sound leave something to be desired. Being close to Mystic is nice too. Southeastern CT is my favorite part of the state. Old Saybrook is a pretty town and has a very scenic waterfront, too much private property though! The waterfront along a lot of the CT shoreline is not very accessable to the public.

I live less than a half mile from Twin Lakes. There's no public beach. Just public kayak, small boat launch and the bigger boat lauch at the marina. Many of the houses have private beaches and the largest amount of the owners are only around a few weeks/ weekends a year and are very laid back if you like to make friends with them and ask to use THEIR beach LOL.. Just make sure you're respectable about speed driving the dirt roads that go around the beach. Like 10- 20 MPH. Alot of people walk themselves and/or their dogs, (including me !!!) and sometimes end up in the narrow road and get unpleasently surprised by faster traffic not paying attention on the blind corners.
