I work at CCSU and my wife works from home. We currently rent a house in West Hartford but we're looking to move to something a little nicer and spend a little more money (1400-1600ish top end).

Can anyone recommend newish/remodeled apartments/condo rentals? I'm thinking Middletown/Newington/West Hartford at 2BR. There are so many apartments I'm just looking for some suggestions on places to check out.

Thank you in advance!

Middletown and Rocky Hill would be my suggestions. As both have plenty of apartments and some are newer complexes, depending on what you think "new" is.
For 1400-1600 you should be able to get a pretty nice 2 bedroom apartment in those towns.

Good Luck!

Interesting since most people want to move to West Hartford as an upgrade not out of it. Have you looked at the apartments at Gilette Ridge in Bloomfield. They look very nice, are new and might be what you want. Plus they are not far from West Hartford and the things many people like about the town. Jay

My wife and I enjoy West Hartford, but want to explore other towns as we'll probably be buying a house in the next year.

The tough part is constantly going through cragislistings for houses in West Hartford. You never know what you're getting from a listing and I want to try a more updated/newer facility with heat/AC. We looked at Hartford 21 (downtown Hartford), nice and newly built but didn't want to be in downtown.

Other new construction is directly in Blue Back Square but the Lofts are expensive for small size and the condos are also overpriced unfortunately.

Thanks for the tip on Gilette Ridge. Putting them on my list of places to explore.
