Default Moving from Portland, ME to CT: Clean(ish) air city?

I love Portland but want to be closer to NYC while still being near the ocean. I need a town at least 50K+ population. CT has pretty bad air quality ranking, but any option that might be cleaner than New Haven/Bridgeport?

South western CT near NYC can have high ozone readings- as can the CT river valley

try northwestern- and eastern CT.
