I know that section well. The poor part of Stratford. That Gulf station on Honeyspot road was my first job shortly after they opened in 1969. I used to like going to the Howard Johnsons after working a 12+ hour day and not even asking about overtime pay. I was happy to get so many hours at $2/hour.

Doesn't sound like the "bomb" would have done much other than cause a big fire. Thank God for idiots, I guess.

I don't know what to make of it. A lot of things don't make sense here. Who sends their truck to the junkyard with the plates still on it?

"The dark-colored Pathfinder didn't have a clearly visible vehicle identification number. Its license plates came from a car found in a Stratford repair shop.

The license plates on the SUV have been traced to a Stratford, Conn., junkyard and belonged to a Ford F-150. Investigators say they contacted the truck's owner, who said he sold the truck to the auto parts business. The Pathfinder holding the explosives is believed to have been purchased at Thomas Anthony Auto Sales in Bridgeport, sources told the Associated Press Sunday."

They said on CNN this morning that the bomber lived in Shelton, Connecticut. I Know Shelton a little, but could not place the area they showed on CNN. Not saying they are wrong, but didn't look familar.

He lived in Shelton but foreclosed on his house last year. They are now searching an apartment in Bridgeport where he most recently lived, which is probably what you saw on TV.

One of those 20 pound propane tanks has enough explosive power to easily level a house. Two going off along with 10 gallons of gasoline would have made one hell of an explosion and fire. They got very lucky that this guy is an idiot.

Idiots? What suprises me is the amount of people who believe stories they read and hear.

Come on guys....smoke? The car was "smoking" so someone told authorities. Do you have any idea how easy it is? Why would a car just "smoke"?

Ironically the Christmas Day underwear bomber was "smoking" too and passengers wrestled him down.

People need to wake up...these are planned incidences. Perhaps to keep us on alert? Maybe to make us believe we still need to fund the fight of terrorists.

These stories dont make sense.

And ironically they caught this guy as the plane was rolling to runway.

Maybe our government is doing it to show these real terrorists we can catch a guy?
