I've lived in Norwalk and South Norwalk for 10 years, where did I get my car broken into? East Norwalk, the safest area where did I leave the car unlocked? where supposedly wasn't unsafe. I lived in a condo on Ely avenue, there are so many condominums there now with great people, young professionals and it's safe. Perhaps years ago things were not this way but nowadays it's not unsafe. Where it's unsafe is Bridgeport and Stamford areas. Norwalk has great apartment choices and condos to rent, I loved it there. Best restaurants in the area and clubs. I'm a woman, Caucasian in mid 30s and I like South Norwalk.

Before you buy or rent, drive by the areas, talk to neighbors, sit in a car if you have to and take your own conclusions as this is one of the cities that has been changing dramatically and it's very safe and fun place to live in the middle of Fairfield county, close to all.
