it all depends what your looking for, a nice town alittle uppity is glastonbury, lots of good restraunts, jalisco mexican, proccacinis italian, gung ho japanese fusion, ming bao chinese, chikurin japanese, pazzo italian, kens breakfast, spicy green bean deli, then of course the slew of 3 cvs, 3 dunkin donuts in a 4 mile radius. low on night life except the diamond is open late. if u are more a night person i would say northern ct west hartford, Manchester.
I would suggest West Hartford, or even Manchester. Lots to do in both areas. Not sure about Manchester nightlife, but West Hartford seems pretty good (around the center, at least).
If you can, move farther south. New Haven is great for singles.
I do not think that I would want to commute to Springfield from New Haven. It is about 65 miles and you would have to deal with Hartford traffic on I-91. Jay

I said move, not commute. I'm very aware of how far New Haven is from Hartford, especially when commuting. I never advised the OP to live in New Haven and commute to Hartford. You infered way too much from my post.
I think there is a quite a bit of things to do in manchester. I liked manchester, w.hart and even New Haven. I wish i could move to either three. But i think the farthest i could move is hartfort.
Spdf is little to conservation for a brown man, if you know what i mean....
I think i am more of a night life person, and a foodie myself. Thank you all for the advise, i really appreciate it.
Would you know appartments that i might look into not to pricey not to cheap for a decent young proff.
Thank you all again
