I am going to attend Quinnipiac University School of Law in August 2010 and am looking for a quality, quiet 2 bedroom rental. I will be visiting properties July 14-18. Preliminary research suggests Cheshire, Wallingford and Hamden are the best choices in the area that are located close to the school. Any recommendations as to best choice for condominium, townhouse or apartment rentals? Any Cheshire rentals? I have budgeted $1500-2000 which will be shared by 1 roommate. Any recommendations will be appreciated.

There aren't apartment complexes in Cheshire really. You would have to check Craigslist for rentals in that town, which would likely be a floor of a multi family home or a single family home/condo.
But your budget of 1500-2000 should get you a good 2 bedroom.
Good Luck!

Any great condo/townhouse/apartment rentals in or around Wallingford? Thanks for your guidance.

We had a hard time finding something to rent in Cheshire thru a realtor, just nothing listed...my husband found us a gr8 3BR home listed on Craigslist and the owner is so wonderful! When you drive thru Cheshire you can see there are lots of "for rent" signs around complexes (i'm not sure if they are considered apartments or what they are really) and homes. You may want to think of renting out a small 2 BR house (with the agreement w/the landlord he would do the upkeep outdoors - we do our own here b/c we want to)

Before we got this place and my DH was living alone renting, he lived in Hamden...hated it, did not feel safe.

I would suggest the Cheshire or Wallingford areas first...just my opinion

I'm not sure how far of a drive it would be to the university though; my daughters ballet teacher in town goes to Quinnipiac and loves it

Good luck to you!

oh and of course, just be careful when using craigslist...we found SEVERAL phoney ads, they were fairly obvious though...and do your research if you find something thru there...make the landlord/owner show you their drivers license if you have any questions as to who they are and where they really live.

Here's where I'd stay if I were you. Read the review sounds like a real adventure:

Just a short walk to Sabattical's too. Best wings I've ever had and they were still free last time I was there.
