We are making the move this summer, and we're looking for a moving company and car transportation. Any recs would be greatly appreciated!

I would avoid Geometric moving in CT. They drew out my local by-the-hour move a few years ago so that it ended up double the price. It was so obvious how they did it, too. Their movers stood around doing nothing for over half the day, then didn't start to actually work until evening to finish the job. I even called "the boss" about noon to inform him of what was happening, but nothing changed.

We are moving from Tampa to the Hartford area next week. I will let you know how our moving company is (good or bad) after we get up there.

We just moved from st.pete to manchester. I checked dozens of moving companies and Mayflower was the best I recommend them 100%. they were actually middle of the road price wise. DO NOT USE TRANSPORT SERVICES FOR YOUR CAR!!!!!!!!!!! that company was the worst EVER! If you want to DM me I will give you the number of a direct transporter that was reasonably priced and very nice. just make sure whoever you choose is not a broker! and some will lie about it so you have to check them out don't go on their word. I learned the hard way.

Thanks for your input.
Did Mayflower charge you by the hour or for the whole job?

The whole job. It was a binding quote too so they couldn't add charges. someone will come out and give you the quote by estimating weight and piece count. but when the driver comes they count differently (every tiny thing counts as 1 piece). however because its binding they can't charge more(we didn't know that until after and left a lot of stuff behind because we were over piece count). Also they will move your car too but it is expensive. All that aside I would have them move me again in a heart beat!
