forgive me for visiting, I am from NY but I went to the U Of B from 80-82 and am dying to know if it changed,. I have fond memories of the place.

How long before 80 was the Warnaco outlet store there (kind of in back of Barnaby's Pub, the Gazebo, clock shop and Barnes & Noble). In fact, are those stores still there? How long before 80 were these 5 stores there?

Is Conte's grill still on University Ave? That place was soo dated in 80, I can't imagine it remaining there. How long before 80?

Pop's grocery store on Lafayette Street near University. I remember it was run by a Greek guy. Same questions.

Famous Pizza on Park Ave. A friend of mine was mugged sitting at the counter, can you believe? A few blocks above the arch. A liquor store right near there.

I remember a State Street Diner and a Kingsmen Pub

Was there a lot of change in the period between say 1972 and 1980 in this immediate area around the University? I always thought it looked kind of new in 80, and often wondered what it was like in the Nixon/Ford years

Can anyone shed some light?

A lot has changed since then. The Warnaco Outlet and all those stores are long closed. The building where Barnaby's was is now condos. I think Famous is still around but I also think Contes closed. And the State Street Diner is still there. It has been a while since I was down in that area so more may have changed. Maybe someone else knows more. Jay
