It's pretty darn hot today. Just stay in the house and put your air conditioning on the coldest setting. Then throw your winter gear on.

Nice day for AC unit to die. It has been on its last legs for awhile now and have quotes for replacement from several companies. I am planning on making my pick tomorrow and get them in here as soon as possible. Until then we are dying. Jay

Your nuts (just kidding)…it’s sunny and hot…the way nature intended it to be. What grows in cold polar areas –nothing it’s barren, cold, and dead. What grows in the hot/wet tropics – everything, it’s the cradle of life. I’ll take every single day like today from now till mid October… over a crappy cold, overcast, raw February day! May through October in Connecticut is what makes December through March tolerable – lol.

Too be fair though…today was a little extreme…it hit 98 F at the NWS reporting station in Hartford at 4:00 PM (this inside a shaded instrument shelter)…and 92 F at Tweed New Haven Airport. Sidewalk temps downtown in both cities were easily 100 F.

The hottest temperature in the entire country today (Wed.) was recorded at the two local airports. Brainard and Bradley both reached 99 degrees. Something is just strange when this happens.

Westfield and Fitchburg in Mass. were at 98 degrees, which tied the non-New England high... a suburb of Phoenix.
