The back of my entertainment center looks like the transatlantic cable. Just for giggles I counted the number of buttons on all my remotes (just in the living room) and came up with 283 buttons. I do have a universal remote that controls all components. It's so bad that I had make a list with directions if my wife wants to watch a DVD with surround sound in that room!

Default oldies but goodies

Try not to slam me too hard this time but I moved into the electronic age kicking and screaming lol. Some of you have already belittled me for having a 12 yr old computer and just recently getting off DIAL UP.....Kindly remember, some of us buy based upon our income.

I now am proud to say...I have one cell phone without photos and other bells and whistles...just a phone; a house phone; a flat screen tv; a surround sound stereo; 2 portable tvs (rabbit ear capable); a couple of $5 cameras;(they too are idiot proof); 4 reomtes (1 for the stereo, one for the main tv, and 1 each for the portables); another stereo for the porch; and wait...the best of all....an 8 TRACK stereo combination that looks like a motorcycle helmet. I just saw it on the Antique Road Show for a lot more than I paid for it.

So there you have it....laugh all you want. I'm just a simple gal with simple tastes (most of the time).

An 8-track??? Wow, I haven't had one of those in....hmmmm...when I fell off my pet dinosaur. The last time I tried to buy one for my parents was back in 1982 and the guy at the store said he buried those years ago. My first car stereo was an 8-track and I used to play Baby Its You (by Smith) to impress the girls! Then I would switch to Boots Randolph!!!

The Palm OS rules.

I have a phone that runs the Palm operating system, so I don't have to schlepp a pda, and a cell phone around. It's nice to have my entire contact database with me all the time.

I'm also a music lover, so I have what used to be a decent stereo. I'm replacing/upgrading it piece by piece. I'm simplifying, so I'm down to 1000 LP's and 2000 cd's.

I'm looking for a new digital camera, (sure do wish they'd upload my new photos...) but it's not easy to find the various weird featured I need all in one place.

Since I produce and host a radio show, an ipod doesn't work for me, (nless anybody's interested I'll spare you the explanation for now). But I like good design and will eventually get one - probably prompted by the idea of time-shifting radio via podcasting.
