I just replaced my Denon AVR4800 receiver that I bought in 2000 with a new Yamaha RX-V673 unit, love it. My primary speakers, also bought in 2000, are a set of B&W DM604 S2 which still sound amazing so keeping those

The components I am looking for area a center channel and a set of surrounds. I am also looking to replace my TV soon enough since it's a old Sony KDS-50A2000 SXRD unit that I bought in 2006 although it still works well after a bulb replacement recently so I can wait on this item.

But can I get some recommendations for surrounds priced around $400/pr? I am leaning towards these:

http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-Sur...owViewpoints=1

And a center channel for around $200. I'm looking at spending around $1000 for a new TV size around 50 inches.

Buy the matched center channel for your B&Ws. THE most important factor when choosing a center channel is that it's timbre matched to the main speakers. Although it's less important, timbre matching the rears helps insure a smoother transition when the audio moves from the front to the rear. Placement of the rears is a factor in determining which configuration will work best for you.

Agreed with vmaxnc that you need to buy matching center. Same make and model.
