Can anyone direct me to a website where I can learn (easily) about them?

I'm still using my 35mm. I like the pictures better than pictures I've seen from digital. But the disadvantage is I have to wait til I use the whole roll before I can post or share them. Plus it is getting hard to find places that will develope old-fashioned 35mm. (Last time out of desparation I went to Walmart's and boy did they ever mess up my pictures.)

I want a camera that will take good pictures, but want to pay about $100. Does that sound reasonable? And I need to educate myself, I am so confused when I go into a store - a hundred different models, how do I choose.

thanks,
ellen

$100 budget doesn't leave whole lot of options open, I'd suggest a Canon powershot.

Digital Cameras| B&H Photo Video

Don't get caught up in the Megapixel size, just because one camera has larger number doesn't mean it's a better camera. A 3 MP Canon DSLR from 10 years ago is still going to take better pictures than a 16MP new consumer camera.

Default Plan to spend more

Surf to Digital Photography Review
Tons of data.
You can do comparisons.

Or you can buy a Canon PowerShot A2400 IS for $100.

What brand/model/year?
How much do you have "invested" in lenses and accessories?

If you want a point and shoot - I have both a Nikon and a Kodak EasyShare - both are super easy (the Nikon is older and actually came w/a book, the Kodak didn't) - They aren't expensive, Nikon is more, you can find a Kodak to "break you in" for around $40-$50.

The manual will be on the disc that came with it or you can download from Kodaks site.

Appreciate the suggestions here, as I'm approaching idea of getting my first digital camera ever, but want the simplest & cheapest one out there.

I know, I'm talking about a physical manual.

Geez, Dave, take it easy.

Two people have suggested the Powershot though.
Done.
Next question?

Nothing for $100 is going to compare to your "old" 35mm. You do get what you pay for.
BUT it certainly will not take bad pictures.
And the Powershot is a good one to get your feet wet.
Then in a few years you can get a proper D-SLR that will take better pics then your 35mm.
