I've got a Toshiba Theaterview, and sometimes the color on the screen goes dark sometimes for some reason. I can make it to where an extra screen pops up on the bottom and the color on it is bright. So any idea what the problem is and what I can do to keep it from going dark?

Sometimes it will fade in and out. Here's a picture that doesn't really show to well how dark the screen gets, but it does show the color difference.

So it recently started to do this again. I can still pull up that small screen and it seems to show up fine.

Look in your on-screen settings menu. A lot of sets compensate for ambient light automatically.

Do a search on problems with the model # of your TV. You may find out you can get it fixed for free but the shipping and handling will not be free.
