I am going to be downsizing significantly when I move to the PNW and starting to get rid of stuff. I've sold my stereo, receiver, 7 speakers, etc. I need something small that will play music when I move. OK don't laugh ... but I don't own an IPOD yet. So I've been doing some research and it seems that a lot of people use IPODs with a Docking station and then some sort of speaker setup. I need some help here about what to buy. If I go to a store they will sell my anything.

No need for a dock ... just any bluetooth speaker setup will do. Can't recommend w/o knowing your budget.

Thanks I will check into this. Since I have no idea what this stuff costs, I'd say I'll start with a $2,000 budget, but can adjust it once I know what to look for and see what it will cost me.

That kind of budget is large stereo budget, not iPod dock and/or bluetooth speaker money. Even the top of the line Bose iPod dock tops out at around $600 (not recommending Bose per se, just that it's one of the most expensive options out there). You can easily get a great sound dock or bluetooth speaker in the $200-$300 range. I would personally go with a bluetooth solution as it will work with all kinds of devices and not be limited to just iPod and iPhone.

Another option if you are looking for bigger sound would be to get a soundbar system to go with your TV. These will often have bluetooth streaming input as well and are basically a compact home stereo/surround sound solution.
