Advice if you will ... who is better in the realm of portable GPS for my car, Tom-Tom or Garmin? Features? Cost?

TIA -

Getting lost without a compass more times than I care to admit...

We bought our son a Garmin GPS last year for Christmas. He's the kind of computer geek who is so nerdy he can get lost driving down our street without turning around! We bought it online, for a really good price, and he hasn't been lost since.

But I have no idea what it all has other than some sort of an upgradeable mapping system.

I bough a Garmin c330 for $128 early the friday morning after thanksgiving and I LOVE it! It can be updated on the internet, has a slot for a memory card, can save places (cordinates) to someplace you have been. I took it out and told it "Home" and then went the other way to see what it would do and it kept trying to direct me back home.. So now, no matter where I go.... I can get home now!! (Hay, and it don't get mad and call me names either!)
