Personally; I loss nation loyalty long ago when they didn't care about me as long as I had no choice. I am just as interest in all humans anyway; not Americans. I buy best value as I see it.

The Toyota dealer is employing people right there where you live. A chunk of what you pay the dealer for the Toyota goes to the people who work there, which helps the local economy.

Here in San Antonio, we have a Toyota truck factory. If you buy a Toyota truck where you live, some of the money went to people who work in my US city.

OTOH, I can't really apply that logic to any other category of item I purchase. For instance, there aren't any electronics manufactured where I live.

All motor vehicle companies are global. Their point of origin doesn't have any barring on who's economy is benefited more. What benefits our economy is buying products in this country. All of these companies have manufacturing outside of their respective country of origin. There might be an exception for a few of the luxury motor vehicles, but for the most part, it's not going to make a difference if you buy a Toyota or Chevy. After all, 75% of Toyota parts are made here in the US anyway.

Now, if your personal choice is you like driving Fords or GMs over Toyotas, then that's a whole different story. But, believe me, if I buy a Honda here, locally, and you buy your GM vehicle here as well, we're both supporting our local economy.
