IIRC a lot of people thought these looked "stupid" when the first one appeared in public. I think we've gotten over that.

Comparing the horseless carriage to the Google glass is a bit much. While the car fulfilled a transportation need I'm not sure what need the GG is fulfilling.
OP, obviously you haven't even tried them. It's "Ok Glass, take a picture". OP might want to get professional help for anger issues.
Honestly, the reactions I've received from others have been all positive. Everyone wants to try it out. What kind of responses have you guys been getting from people around you?
Would you be happy to see a guy taking pictures in front of you like that, taking pic with no reason?
Why don't you grow up and get rid of these gadgets which make your life more geeky and miserable.?

How do you know the user is taking pictures? They could be looking up something on a map or wikipedia.
If your main objection is photograpy, 99% of the smartphones in use today have cameras and could be used for taking pictures of you when you don't know it.

I believe that was the point. Most people who had horses and carriages thought that combination was perfectly fine when horseless carriages were introduced. They didn't like the idea of replacing the horse and buggy with something fueled by flammable liquids and belching smoke into the air.
We don't yet know the full ramifications of a wearable computer, because there are only a few thousand of them out there in the wild. Instead, naysayers like the OP are focused on what they perceive to be bad about them: appearance and photography.
