Anybody have one they'd recommend?

I'm starting to get a collection of them. I picked up a JBL Flip refurbished I believe from Newegg - used it for awhile but now the charge doesn't hold, so I just keep it on electric and hooked up aux sound without bluetooth. That's what I get for refurb.

I picked one up another speaker from Brookstone several years ago and that one works very well. I think I paid $50. Good sound, but it's their generic one, not sure who makes it. Good range. Very durable.

Few weeks ago I picked up a Omaker. Sounds good, no issues yet. Think I paid $30-40. Very lightweight. Wouldn't say the sound is good - kinds of tinny sound. Not enough base. Poor range (about 20 feet). I use it with a small android mobile device.

I like the bluetooth speaker that allows you to have it anywhere in the house and you still get sound.

Summary, I like bluetooth speakers, but can't really recommend any.

I didn't make this review.

I bought my brother the Altec Lansing BoomJacket for Christmas. It shows $199.99 on their website but I got it on Christmas eve at Best Buy for I want to say $120. It sounds very good; nice clear bass and very decent volume before distortion. I wouldn't have thought it any more exciting than any other bluetooth speaker, however, we went paddle boarding on Christmas day since we both got paddleboards for Christmas, first time for both of us, and the speaker soon ended up in the intracoastal. :-) Suffice it to say, it survived, was still playing music, he climbed back on, put the speaker back on, and we went for another hour or two. Fortunately his phone was in a water proof bag so it survived too. The speaker has had no ill effects since that time. So, I would recommend it based just on real world experience dumping it in saltwater lol.

I personally would not spend as much as either the JBL or the way overpriced Bose. I just spotted this a few days ago and is a hell of a deal.

If you want really big sound via bluetooth you can't go wrong with any of the Ion party speakers devices. The bigger devices aren't quite as portable as the small speakers for sure but the sound is tremendous and they sell for less than the Bose
