Looking for an outdoor wifi camera with motion detector and night vision, which can send pictures to the phone or cloud, I would like to mount this camera well above the front door to monitor if anyone is approaching the front door. Have anyone installed something like this and are happy with the purchase ?
Are you connecting it with your home wifi? I've been looking for similar but with its own internet connection. You also might want to rethink your placement. I've heard it is better to have the camera low to get good face shots.
The problem with wifi cameras is that they still have to get power from somewhere so unless you run a long AC extension it cannot be very far away from a power source. Notice I mentioned AC and not DC. DC is not good for long runs as it loses voltage over distance. If you have an outlet close to where you want the camera then no problem. I recommend the Foscam. The alternative is to run a POE (power over ethernet) camera. One cat 5 cable supplies both video and power. On the Ethernet side you will need a power injector to send the power over the same cable. You will also get better quality video and bandwidth from a POE camera.

Use the outdoor Foscam (not the PoE version) for my home. My camera power is from the other side of the wall (my garage). The wifi connects to the Cisco Aironet and works well.
They have some now that look like lightbulbs, and screw into a lightbulb socket. So, you could install one of those in place of your porch light. I only found these last night, so I haven't yet had time to look them over to see how they all work.
There are some hidden cameras as well as some hidden ip cameras but few would be for outside, I keep one in my window pointing outside, that works good that way if you have a window facing the area you wish to record but because it is inside, it will not work as a motion detector.
You might consider motion detector lights and install a camera in a box attached to them for power and sort of out of view.
