Not sure if this is the best place to put this question. But here goes.

So since AT&T and DirecTv have merged, I called to see what kind of bundle/savings I could get. So they helped me out. I mentioned that I recently got a new DVR from them and that I installed it in the second room, as they advised me to do, but that it makes no sense, as I am the primary watcher and I watch in the living room. So she said they could come out and swap them.

She said the cost of the service call would be $49, but she could give me a special offer of $19.
I said nah, that's OK, it's not that deep.

Then she says ok, are you sure, because I could go ahead and take $10 off that and it will be $9 for them to come out and do that. I again said, nah, it's all good.

She says, ok, as a one-time courtesy, we can waive the fee altogether and come out for no cost. I said well ok, if it's free.

Why are they so eager to come out? I'm betting there's some agenda/plan, something's gotta be in it for them. Any ideas?

I would venture to guess they were anxious to send someone to your home to steal all your cookies and take them back to the office.

Honestly, they always offer to go to one's home for a service call and install or move new and existing equipment.

Why Dude?

Look, they thought they could ding you for a service charge. You refused and refused. Smart.
So they did what they should do and will come out to do the job in the name of good customer service.

I would make sure that whatever package that you're paying for doesn't change. When I had DirecTV, they told me the package I had was an old, grandfathered, package that they no longer offered. So, if I downgraded, it would have actually wound up costing me more each month, (it was already costing me over $100/month.) So, they had me between a rock and a hard place. Also, any changes I made would have signaled a new two-year agreement (in my case, maybe not in yours) and I decided the best thing to do is to not change anything, wait it out, and then I just simply unhooked. Love DirecTV in what they offer, but they are too dang expensive, and you really have to be cognoscente to what changes are made with your account, as you could be "agreeing" to an extended contracted with them. I won't go back with them unless all of the OTA channels start drying up.

ATT has been very agressive with me in trying to switch me to U-verse.

I finally tried them after Dish increased my bill and my bill went up to $270 a month. I cancelled the TV package after I received the bills and now only have OTA TV and internet/phone through ATT.

Be prepared for a sales pitch on the expensive TV packages and don't believe the $90 a month promises because they apparently aren't held accountable in this God-forsaken country for false advertising. The taxes and fees will almost double their promised rates. Don't let them take your satellite equipment or fool with it at all. You may be sorry.
