I hope this question makes sense. The reason I'm asking is if you have a laptop hooked up to an HDTV in order to improve/enlarge the display (vs. the small laptop screen) and you're doing online banking or anything else involving sensitive personal information would it be a privacy/security concern if you ever sell the television?

My concern would be that the TV somehow stores this information unscrupulous became the owner, they would gain access to your data.

If it helps clarify, the HDTV isn't a "Smart" TV, so the TV itself isn't hooked to the internet. It's connected to a laptop (which is connected to the Internet) via an HDMI cable in order to mirror the display on the laptop. I'm thinking this wouldn't be a concern, but I'm hoping I can get a more definitive answer here as to whether the HDTV is even capable of storing information that would be of concern. Thanks.

The TV is display only. The only thing it 'stores' is scanned channels if you have it connected to an OTA antenna.
