Mother in law uses her Ipad to play games is all. She dropped it and its not working. Is there any reason a refurbished Ipad would not meet her needs? What source for the right one?

If I were to buy a refurbished Apple product, I'd buy it directly from their website. Scroll all the way to the bottom and under Apple Store there is a link to their refurbished store. They refurbish their products to like new condition. I'm not sure I would trust a 3rd party to do the same.

Same thing happened here except an update killed my mil's iPad. We bought a refurbished iPad right at the Apple Store and she has used it worry free for the last 3 years. Buy from Apple, online or in the store.

Miraculously the dropped Ipad is working again. However I found Apple has a replacement program where if you bring in your old damaged Ipad they will sell you a new one at a nice discount from the new price. I didn't have to use it this time but will in future. The Ipad she has is one they claim they, meaning apple, refurbish. Its an older model before their Air version was introduced

I second, third, and fourth the idea of buying refurbished directly from Apple. I bought my wife a refurbed iPad directly off the Apple website, and she's still using it today. That was about four years ago.

I would like to know more about this. It's time for me to trade up to a newer one.
