Does anyone know of a car radio/head unit that you can install SIM cards into? Or something similar? I'm trying to find a way to be able to stream music without using the phone. I know AT&T has some connected car options, but I use Verizon and want the flexibility to just install a SIM anyway. What I'm looking for may not even exist, but any input is appreciated.

Thanks

What you want does not exist. A car radio you can insert a sim into.

Many car companies are selling new cars that do have access to a cellular network, I am not aware of any after market options that do that. Yet.
I certainly am no expert in the car audio market.

The head unit does not seem to exist yet. However some car manufacturers including GM are advertising that they will have 4G LTE capability soon (they may already have it). Their new head units appear to be Android based much like a phone. Head unit manufacturers should soon follow. So I would say it's coming soon.....

They do. Every Chevy can be bought with such tech. I believe many Fords are too.

Yeah, I think those are limited to AT&T's network though.

Looks like Verizon sells a hotspot that connects to the OBD-II port, so that works. I can just connect the radio to the hotspot and then stream from that.
