I'm building a 3.1 set up for my large living room. The HT set up is used for 50/50 music and movies. I'm looking for a entry level subwoofer that can perform well for both music and movies.

Any recommendations?

I've seen some good deals on Klipsch and JBL.

These are all "Entry Level" but are more than enough "thump" for most. I know you said $200 to $300 but there's no need to even spend quite that much.

Here's a 12" Polk ($179)
Polk Audio PSW Series PSW505 12" Powered Subwoofer Single-Newegg.com

Entry Level Klipsch (also $179)
KLIPSCH Reference Series 10-Inch Powered Subwoofer-Newegg.com

JBL (on sale for $129, normally $199)
JBL Arena Sub 100P 10" 100W Powered Subwoofer with High-Efficiency Class D Amplifier (Black)-Newegg.com

I've had a Dayton Audio for many years and it's still pumping. I have a large living room and HT setup and actually it's too much for me. I have to turn it down a bit. It works great and is only $119
Dayton Audio SUB-1000 10" 100 Watt Powered Subwoofer 300-628 - Newegg.com

12" is $150
Dayton Audio SUB-1200 12" 120 Watt Powered Subwoofer 300-629 - Newegg.com

Obviously, they go up from there and this is just one vendor. I bought my Dayton from Parts Express where they have reviews on it.

Which one of these would be the most accurate subwoofer. I don't mind spending less but rather have a quality speaker for that price range.

Accurate? Do you mean frequency response? Without some lab equipment I wouldn't be able to tell you. I can only comment on what I have which is the Dayton Audio and I am more than satisfied. You could also do a little googling and look for reviews and/or specs on them. The Polk has great reviews both on Newegg and Amazon and I misspoke, the price is $199. Looks good to me but of course that's up to you.

This is the best bang for the buck subwoofer in your price range. If you're looking for accurate as in not muddy but rather tight bass, you're going to have to go up in price to get that.

This is pretty much the universally accepted best subwoofer in the $200-300 range.

I keep hearing good things about this one and will probably get it. Does it ever go on sale?

Honestly, I wouldn't waste any money on the lower end subwoofers. Sorry, they just don't cut it. And if you have a large room. You are just throwing money away. I would not touch any subwoofer under $500 for a large room.
