Is it just the TV light that will awaken you since the sound will just be coming out of the headphones?

TVs might have the option to change this in their setup menu: Internal Speaker On/Off , Line Out Fixed/Variable.

My remote controls the TV speaker and I use doohicky https://www.amazon.com/3-5mm-Stereo-.../dp/B004GIFBM4 like this to control the wired headsets.

...
For the wake/alarm function, I won't use the headphones so the sound will come out of the TV speakers.

Received the TV a few days ago and have been watching lots of stuff.

No internet is needed to use this TV. Awesome!

On/Wake Timer: fantastic as morning alarm clock; a combination of light and sound wake you up for sure.

Headphone output: useful for private listening without disturbing those around me. No need to use a DA converter anymore.

Picture Off: this feature is nice to have, as there are shows I want to listen to only. Turning the screen off also saves energy.

This TV does a great job of upscaling SD materials.

Things I don't like:

Angle viewing is the worst I have seen. Color become washed out if I move just two feet from the center.

Motion blur, unfortunately, still plagues this technology.

This TV doesn't seem to keep any TV guide data. Many TVs can keep up to two days worth of data. This TV only display info for the current show.

I am keeping it for the good picture quality and the features I want. The cons I can live with.
