So I was having an argument recently regarding the date of death for actor Bob Denver, TV's Gilligan. There was a rumor he died this month, Jan 2017.

I said, "Bob Denver died in 2005!"

My SIL pipes up to Alexa, her new Christmas present, "Alexa, when did Bob Denver die?"

Alexa responded Friday, Sept 2, 2011.

2011?! All research points to 2005. My SIL even asked different ways, and Alexa still insisted he died in 2011.

What are we to believe when we ask Alexa, Cortana, SIRI, etc, when we seek the truth?

How does your Alexa respond when YOU ask about Bob Denver/Gilligan?

Your Alexa is no different then anyone else's. She gave me the same date and will give everyone that same date.

Google Assistant says Septmber 2, 2005.

Google wins, as usual. Siri and Alexa are simply no match for the Goog. For the record, Siri got it right, too.

Thanks - I didn't know if there was some sort of configuration.

Anyway, I guess I won't be asking Alexa for medical or tax advice!

At least you got an answer. My cousin got one for Christmas and half the stuff we asked her she didn't have an answer for.

Ask it when Nelson Mandela died.

Also ask it how to spell Berenstein Bears.
