I hate the DVD box set cases where there are two discs in one "page" - you have to remove one disc to get at the other. I also fear that the discs touching each other will scratch 'em.

I know they do this so the whole box will be thinner. But I would rather have one disc per page and have it be thicker.

Are all DVD box sets like this? My The Office boxes, seasons 4-6, are like this. But not Monk.

Was that a rhetorical question? You just answered yourself.

The Big Bang Theory uses both sides of each disc, so an entire season fits on three discs.
Why don't they do that to all the shows??

A) no not everyone does the 2 disc thing.
B) They don't touch, they won't scratch, it is safe.
C) Not many companies produce dual sided DVD\BluRay. I prefer single sided. They aren't as fragile, i.e. I can lay them down without fear on a table, desk, TV stand whatever and not worry about scratches. I think dual is dumb.

I love how you always ask these questions "Why aren't things the way I like them best..." Becuase not everybody likes what you like. Stop that.

People still buy DVD? Thought my quirky older brother, who loves to collect the things, was the only one...

It's a big, big world out there beyond yours. You and your brother just live in a tiny, tiny part.

Many DVDs are sold out there. Even more Blu-rays.

Acutally, the discs do touch each other, in mine, albeit only slightly.

If there is any touching. like my 3 disc set I just checked, they should be put into the case to where the unreadable sides are touching. If your case has dual sided discs and the data sides are touching...yea...bad design. I assure you most don't do that.
