I have a Yamah RX-V381 AV receiver and I don't see in the manual a way to enable a wake-up timer. Any idea on how to go about doing this?

I doubt there is one built in.
Would this old school thang work?

I thought about that. I'm a little wary about using it in case it may cause electrical problems.

There are way more modern versions of that on Amazon and elsewhere

The only problem is getting your receiver to turn on when it receives power. Most of them never turn off completely, they go on 'standby'.

And I see that you receiver has some power down features but not the opposite.

Find yourself one of those older high end programmable universal programmable remote. I had a pronto years ago and I remembered it had a built in timer.

I've used these for a long time with no problems. In fact I just ordered 4 of them for our upcoming trip. Lost a couple when we moved.

I agree that just sending it power is not a solution.

Long shot. From a manual for a different model.

Found this teaser in the V350 manual. Too bad they don't go into more detail.

By connecting a commercially available timer to this unit, you can also set a wake-up timer. Refer to the operation instructions of the timer.
