How do you set up an Echo so it's on your wifi if there's no way to type the wifi password into the Echo?

I saw the basic help pages. I think you go to the Alexa app on a mobile device and go to Update Wifi. Do you do something there so that the wifi wouldn't require the password?

(I don't have an Echo but I was curious.)

The app put the Echo on your Wifi. Open app, it connect porobably through BT. Join wifi. Enter password. Done.
Once it is on the wifi, you don't need to put it on again.
