DVR owners- will you do this experiment and report back?

Thanks.. yeah, this is more than a fan. Fans don't usually bother my ears- in fact they sound rather pleasant. I have a call in to the tech support, hopefully will get this resolved soon.

Happy to report that the repair guy came out and he could tell the noise was not normal. Put in a new box... nice and quiet... what a relief.

Yup I figured something wasnt aligned properly in there..
