Models please? Just to be clear, I am not talking about a monitor. I need a TV with a tuner. Thanks.

Some models don't require internet to setup; some do. I have a 4 year old LG GoogleTV that requires internet connection to setup. I don't have internet at home. I forgot about this requirement and did a factory reset which is like turning it on for the first time which require internet connection which I now don't have. The TV no longer works as a TV. Now it only works as a monitor.

I also have another LG TV, which sadly dies after 3 years, that did not require internet connection to set up.

It's hard tell which models require internet connection and which don't.

Sounds like you bought a monitor.....not a TV!
