however, aliexpress has been known to harbor scamming vendors and since it's in china, it's difficult for them to assist foreign buyers when it comes to product and/or delivery issues. i trust amazon in that regard. however, this device is so expensive through amazon. any other reliable websites or brick-and-mortar stores that carry this device at a cheaper price?
or maybe a cheaper alternative that works just as well? i don't know anything about these things. my brother in the philippines just wants me to send him this
Have you checked Ebay? Usually Ebay is very good with protecting the buyer. I have always had my money refunded when issues arrived. Just make sure you purchased everything online with a credit card, it's easiest way to fight and get your refund back should issues arises.
Have you tried searching, ***gasp*** Google. I saw lots of vendors.
I understand someone wanting feedback from experience of other online retailers. I mean, I might Google laptop battery replacement and find plenty of online vendors, but it's nice to ask someone who might have had personal experience with something other than Amazon.
That being said, I have no experience with the Chinese vendor the OP is referring to.

I fully understand that desire. Problem is that one good experience from one place doesn't make much of a pattern, does it. I guess a bad experience is worth noting. Your point well taken.

No it doesn't, you are correct! But seeing as how there's a lot of fake reviews out there, it's very tough to discern between factual and not sometimes. Then again, like you said, you need enough input to make a good decision. Like, I might ask a question about lawn care service from my neighbors, and out of five people, I might get five different responses.
You are right about the fake reviews. That's why I look at the lower scored reviews, especially the worst, which seem to be of the nature "didn't work" or "too complicated", either much better than a real performance problem.
