Hi CD!
Let me just say that I don't let me kids play on my phone at all, but a few times this year my 2 year old son has managed to get a hold of my cell phone when I am not looking. He swipes it on and presses the "Emergency Call" button which is found right below the key pad to enter the code to unlock your phone, this in turn dials 911 automatically.

One time, the police even showed up at my house.

My phone is an LG phone, is there anyway to disable this stupid button? Most sites recommend downloading an application that overrides it but I can't find any good info on Google.

I worry that one day in a real emergency, they may not respond because my number is flagged or that I might get fined. Any help is appreciated.

High shelf, teach him not to play with your phone - simplest answer.

Look into Hi Locker

A recent review -

“This lock screen is better than the one my phone came with. It doesn't have emergency contacts where my daughter can call 911 even when my phone is locked! She's not even 2 yet, but she's already figured out how to pull down the menu on this Hi Locker screen from the top and change my settings or start YouTube videos that are in my notifications, all while the phone is locked! Does anyone have a lock screen that is completely child proof??”

Without rooting your phone or making it hard to use the best solution is still to keep your phone away from your son.

Give her a play phone. Make her understand that it's her phone and she shouldn't use yours.

Great advice, markjames68!!

@Tek_Freek - yes, 2 y.o. can understand the meaning of NO! If not yet, now is the time to teach it.
