Last year, we bought a Hisense smart tv.
I loved being able to use it to surf the web, but when I tried to buy on eBay (and some other things), it told me the I had to update the browser. There was no update available, and googling didn't find a solution, so we sold the tv when we moved.

Now we bought a new TCL smart tv, and it doesn't have a browser at all. There's not even an app store to find a browser.

Can anyone recommend a brand or model that includes a browser?
Or explain what I'm doing wrong?

SmartTv's have much worse software in general than standalone streamers like the appleTV or firestick or chromecast. They also tend to stop updating it, as you found.

I personally have no interest in browsing on my TV, but there are ways.

One way is to buy a Firestick from amazon. https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/best-b...fire-tv-stick/

You could also do it with your computer/phone and a chromecast stick. https://support.google.com/chromecas...DDesktop&hl=en

You could also plug a laptop into your TV.
