Has anyone compared them side by side? Very similar displays but quite different technology completely. FALD comparison for price vs performance is outstanding. What do you guys have experienced and recommend?
I have both (in different areas of the house). OLED is, by far, the most enjoyable in terms of colors, contrast (true blacks), energy consumption, and thinness.
Full Array LED don't get the blacks you get with OLED (you still get bleed), but are much better than edge-lit LED or florescent.
Not sure how easy it is to damage OLED and the life of it is questionable. Growing kids in the house I think it maybe be wise to go with a lesser expense piece of equipment than OLED.

Yea... I can see that. I didn't really consider cost when purchasing.
My OLED is hanging up on the wall and is not easy to "knock over" or whatnot. Too high to reach for any children. But if you're throwing a football around the house, you could probably take it down.
My BIL just had his 3 year old daughter trash his 65” OLED. Also, you can’t leave a DVD playing on the menu as you can get burn in. Don’t want something like this stuck on the screen...

Just like with LCD TVs, burn in is a real issue with OLED TVs... and it occurs more often. However, unlike LCD TVs, burn in on OLED TVs are temporary and will disappear with normal use. Most manufacturers trigger a reset mode periodically that forces the LEDs to reset properly. This happens in the background and you won't notice it.

I’ve never seen burn in with LCD - just temporary image persistence.
OLED can get burn in. My Galaxy Tabpro S uses a screen saver and I recently saw complaints from Sony OLED TV owners that a firmware update did aggressive dimming on static images.
