We have a 65” Sony flatscreen that is about a year or so old
Today it has started running a “header” graphic that was not there yesterday
It is driving my husband nuts because it “shades” the top 1/5 maybe of the visuals on the screen

It is in white — has an icon of an open box, the AT&T print, and HDMI1–which is how the Uverse cable box is inputted—as our HDMI 1 slot
He is trying w/the tv settings to remove it but not having much luck

Any suggestions?
To his knowledge he did nothing to cause this—
Didn’t go into the setting menu and change anything

Is it possible that the Uverse system updated and made this change?

We aren’t the kind of people that mess with the options menu
So this tv even though we had it a year or so is not that familiar to us
But the banding/shading at the top of the screen is very unpleasant and definitely lowers the quality of the visual we see

OK—I Googled
This is a “banner” issue
Said to go to HOME-CHANNELS-and then look for banner/header and turn it off
Had to use HIDDEN
Went back to cable and the header and the shading is gone

He tried HDMI2 which is one of the streaming platforms and there HDMI2 header was there likely for a short time for identification purpose
He didn’t leave it on Netflix for any length of time
Went back to HDMI1 for cable viewing and the banner is off...

So maybe this helps someone else

I don’t know why it happened though—
Maybe Sony did an update since this tv is still fairly new
And changed the BANNER heading
