LOL! I only started riding this spring... and usually at night... it has NOT been warm enough here to really get a good sweat going yet.

I think I know what good sound is, I've been into audio since I was a teenager, I'm 56 now. My $15 earbuds sound fantastic. I would have to get $10k speakers to match the sound. Do the Bose earphones come with insurance? I doubt it.

This is what I use as far as earbuds. I couldn't see myself using over the ear headphones while biking 10 miles.

There is still a wire connecting the two earbuds. It's time to go completely wireless. I like my wireless earbuds so much that I use them at home too while my $300 Sennheiser full size headphones sit unused.

I do agree that completely wireless is nice but as with most things, there are at least two ways to look at things. Besides a higher price, the wire would help prevent me from losing them and is no bother at all. Another thing to consider is that the BT signal comes into it on one side and the audio is sent to the other side over the wire. On this set that I have, you can answer or make a phone call, pause and play music, skip tracks etc. I'm not sure how you would do that on the wireless?

I can do all that on my wireless earbuds either in stereo or mono.

OVER THE EAR
Agree with you. Also, while the "jury is out" in relation to placing a bluetooth receiver and transmitter right next to one's brain (earbuds), I feel a little apprehensive about it. Over the ears may be safer, and a wired one is even safer. But then, who is one to believe with all the medical reports?

I have some of the Bluetooth over the ear headphones that I use while metal detecting, but have switched to wired ones.

You can get wireless ear buds that sound great for way less money than that.

I have to use the ones with the hook that goes over your ear (and even those are awkward as apparently I have weirdly-shaped ears, but at least they don't pop right out). And yes, I feel my ears are too small for some types as they can give me a headache (thank heaven for the ones with interchangeable pads, but even those are awkward).

i have a pair of Sony earbuds with the hook that rest just outside your ear canal and only go a little way in (they're meant to be safer, so outside noise comes through still). Even those can be a bit too big unless I leave them loosely outside my ear canal (but then I can't hear the music as well, and they're less secure).

Unfortunately, one of the earphones has died for some reason-- I don't see damage to the cord, so who knows. I have an identical pair that were my mom's, and on hers, the other earphone has died-- too bad I can't put the two good ones together!

it's hard to find any with the ear hooks these days.

As far as Bose earphones, a bit pricey for something that's going to be rattling around in my gym bag and used when running (traffic noise) or in the gym (noise of machines, weights clanking, the TV if someone has it on, other people talking, my own heavy breathing, etc.). Not exactly conducive to a high-quality audio experience.

(I'll pass on wireless because I don't want to use Bluetooth-- especially since my old iPod doesn't have it.)

Finally got some heat here on America's North Coast . Yea, those aren't great in the heat.
